Christmasday with Lobster

We headed out to the reef in the morning and were rewarded with a fantastic snorkel — crystal-clear water, loads of fish, and coral… simply wonderful!

The rest of the day was dedicated to the noble art of doing absolutely nothing. We lounged around, tested out new toys, and for the boys, took sailing to the next level on a small but very cool blow-up dinghy in the bay. “Sailing” might be a generous term — the real goal was clearly maximum capsizing, because apparently that’s way more fun than just going back and forth like sensible humans.

By late afternoon it was time to gather on the beach for our Christmas feast with the crews of CanopusIthaca, and Tala— and what an evening it turned out to be. Amazing food, great company, and the kind of laughter that only comes from shared adventures (and a few shared mishaps).

It’s incredible how life aboard boats — and crossing an ocean together — can turn complete strangers into close friends in no time at all. You look out for each other, laugh about the things that go wrong, and before you even realize what’s happening, you already know you’ll miss them terribly once you part ways. Maybe it’s the shared, occasionally exhausting passion… or maybe it’s just good old-fashioned trauma bonding 😁.

Unfortunately, that moment is coming sooner rather than later. Despite our best efforts to convince them to join us, our course will take us west, while theirs heads north. Still, we’re hopeful that life (and the wind) will bring our paths together again someday.

Today we say our first goodbyes – we went to Canouan Island last night to clear out of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, stock up on a few essentials, and prepare for our next adventure: a three-day, three-night passage straight to Kralendijk, Bonaire

But before we leave – in case you read this guys, I – we will miss them terribly and I wish you only the best – fair winds and calm waters!  and promise me you come to see us!!!! Thanks for every minute of your time you shared with us!
