After a calm morning, we finally left the dock around 11:30. The buzz at the starting line brought instant excitement, and we crossed it in 4th place — not bad for a crew with little regatta experience!

With full mainsail and our trusty Genoa, we’re now sailing south, leaving Gran Canaria in our wake and settling into life at sea. After three weeks ashore, it takes a little time to find our sea legs again, but so far no one’s feeling sick — just a bit tired. Spirits are high, and we’re making good progress!

Tonight’s dinner is lasagna for those who fancy it, and we’re looking forward to our first clear night sky in a while.
