Day 2- When the Wind (and Stomach) Won’t Cooperate

Today was a tough one for some of us…
The kids bounced back quickly from their bout of queasiness, but unfortunately, I came down with a nasty migraine — probably the same one that hit last week — mixed with a touch of seasickness. Quite the awful cocktail! And as if that wasn’t enough, Mark started turning a bit green this afternoon too. The waves aren’t even that bad, but seasickness always seems to strike when you least expect it.

Progress has been slower than we hoped. First I was stuck in bed, then Mark was down for the count, so sail changes were off the table. We had to make do with our current setup — at times crawling along at a painful 3 knots. Walking might’ve been faster!

But these are the “joys” of sailing we’ve learned to accept. Tomorrow is another day, and hopefully a better one.

Send us a bit of wind! 🌬️

Hope you are feeling better when you read this, and that you have all the right meds on board for migraine and sea sickness (and lots of it)!

You made a cracking start (fourth over the line!) and the wake in the video looked like you were moving along at a good rate of knots.

Snake season had begun here – Bernie saw a tiger and a brown at home within 24 hours and my sister in law found herself in a shed with two browns 😳

Following you daily on the tracker xxx

Steering by hand always helped me! It was not the waves, it was the autopilot that made me sick! Harrrrrr…. 😉

Think about it: The movement of your body starts to correspond with the boat´s movement and vice versa. That links your nervous system to your boat… so you get one with your boat… dont feel like being your boat – be your boat my friend! (bruce lee: don´t behave like water. be water my friend… it can flow… and it can crash… :-D)
